Caroline Keem comes from rural upstate New York, a location that early on gave her a desire to get out and see the world. She studied painting, photography and design at State University of New York at Purchase, New York, and took an intesive art course at the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
After an eight year hiatus from artmaking, spent working in broadcast design, Caroline began to doodle. The doodles got bigger and bigger and turned into a new wave of art making. This eventually led to an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Caroline regularly presents workshops in art, creativity, writing and design as well as exhibiting her artwork.
